The Place where I live.

I live in Cagliari which is an important city in Sardinia. It has a population of over 150.000 people. It's in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, so there are a lot of tourists in the summer. Cagliari is basically a commercial and tourist city. It's also a universitary town with many academic courses.

There are also many historic buildings like the Roman Amphitheatre, the Villa of Tigellio, the Bastion of Saint Remy, the ancient Castello District, the Cathedral and Yenne Square with the statue of Carlo Felice, King of Sardinia. The Basilica of Bonaria is also interesting. But Cagliari also has modern residential area full of luxury blocks of flats, shopping centres and stilish restaurants. The weather in Cagliari is typical of the Mediterranean area, hot in summer and with mild winters. It sometimes rains in autumn and winter.

                           

Cagliari is famous for the Poetto Beach and the promontory of Devil's Saddle. It's also famous for its food and has many local specialities like grilled fish, mussels an clams. They're delicious! What I like best about Cagliari is that it's a sunny and quiet city. When I'm tired of city life, I can easily get out and enjoy the sea, the mountains and thermal spas, wich are only a short distance away.
