American Nightmare.

There was a time when many people had an American Dream.   They looked at the USA as the home of freedom, democracy and progress. They thought of a liberating America and they hoped for that America that fought for the civil rights . Now, America is changing. Now the USA goes against its history and, day after day, destroys that dream. We are learning about an aggressive, arrogant and undemocratic America. We are seeing the worst face of America and what was once a dream is now a nightmare. I have never had an American dream and this saved me from dangerous illusions. We are only at the beginning of a long tunnel and, unfortunately, we will not see the light again soon.

  1. These are dark times, the rise of the right in various parts of the world does not bode well.

    1. Humanity always falls back into old mistakes and the progressive front hasn't a valid project to oppose at this situation. Europe too must wake up from its torpor.

  2. America has been the greatest social experiment ever, there have been times when we believed we had reached very high peaks of civilization, and times when these levels were minimal.
I believe that the United States has long since embarked on the path of an unstoppable decline, and that it will drag down in its fall all those who intend to share its fate.
From dream to nightmare the road is short, they are two sides of the same coin.

    1. The United States is the place of big plans, big dreams and big disillusionments. It is a country full of contradictions. Many say that in America there are opportunities for everyone, but the reality is that there is always someone more advantaged than others. The America that many have imagined is just a mirage.

  3. I remember when I was a child and thinking that my country was an allied of USA rather than URSS was a refreshing feeling.
Now, well, I can't say that I would replace USA with Russia or China, but I have the unpleasant feeling that the distance between these three countries is diminishing, and that USA want to be like the other two nations...
